#Starstruck – Sariah Wilson
Book Reviews / August 12, 2018

Overall Rating: 4 Stars Brief Summary of the Storyline: Chase Covington super movie star posted a question on Twitter? Simple question to his fans about his new movie. Zoe Miller’s “You’ve done better” comment caught his eye and Zoe then caught his attention. Overall Opinion: I enjoyed this book. A simple love story about a megastar and a regular girl. The dialog worked and the storyline was believable. It gives hope to the simple gal looking to meet her celebrity crush. I loved the twitter back and forth. The development of the relationship seemed a bit superficial and at times Chase seemed too good to be true. This book gave a good representation of superfan meeting her crush. A bit of crazy fan mixed with some lady-like decorum. I loved this book. POV: Zoe Overall Pace of Story: The story flowed well. Instalove: Of Course. What regular girl wouldn’t be in instalove with a movie star? H rating: 4 – Bit regular joe for a movie star. h rating: 4 – She had a few quirks but overall loveable. Worthy to Remember: Zoe’s siblings. Watching Jeopardy. The tweets at the beginning of each chapter. Major Issues: I hate the word…

Most Eligible Billionaire – Annika Martin
Book Reviews / August 2, 2018

Overall Rating: 3 stars Brief Summary of the Storyline: Vicky runs an Etsy shop selling fancy dog collars. She befriends an elderly lady when she is mistaken for a dog whisper. When the lady dies and leaves her billions to the dog, Vicky is stunned to find she bequeaths the honor of being the dogs representative and now 51% in charge of Locke Enterprises. One of the worlds most successful empires. This frustrates Henry Locke the son of the late owner as the company should have been his and he will stop at nothing to get control of his company back from the dog and its quirky new owner. Overall Opinion: I can’t say I loved this book but I most certainly didn’t hate it. The beginning towards the middle was a good read. As soon as the sex started the dialog became cheesy. I normally enjoy the enemies becomes lovers theme and this one fit right in. The storyline made sense, it was believable and I even liked the characters. But the number one thing that went wrong was the characters changed. Once the relationship developed he started calling her nicknames that I just couldn’t believe his character would do. I…

The Roommate ‘dis’Agreement – Leddy Harper
Book Reviews / July 10, 2018

Overall Rating: 3 Brief Summary of the Storyline: Cash works Monday through Friday and comes home only on weekends. After catching his wife with another man he now finds himself lonely on the weekends. He puts an ad online, Facebook, for a female roommate. ONLY female. Jade, a single mom, living on her friend’s couch finds herself desperate to get back on her feet. After weeding out the other applications Cash settles on Jade and her daughter. Overall Opinion: First I want to say I gave this book 3  stars because I just felt so indifferent about it. I did like the book. It was a light romance novel. Light meaning there were no steamy love scenes that lasted page upon page that ultimately felt like filler for the author to make his/her word count. But with that said the romance was so slow to build it was almost like waiting for the other shoe to drop. The plot twist for me was easy to spot. And let me say this twist was no light topic at all. The story of a guy taking out an ad to find a female roommate could have been so widely written but then the author…

When Joss Met Matt – Ellie Cahill
Book Reviews / March 29, 2018

Overall Rating: 4 Brief Summary of the Storyline: Joss and Matt have been friends since freshman year of college, meeting one night after Joss is dumped by her boyfriend. After a few drinks, he come up with a proposition: Sorbet Sex. No strings attached sex to cleanse the relationship palate.  In return, she’ll do the same for him. Their number one rule: They’ll never fall in love with each other. Seven years later, Joss and Matt are still the best of friends and a lot of sorbet sex has occurred. Overall Opinion: This was such a cute story. Even though it was evident to me that sorbet sex would go wrong….so very badly, I still wanted to see how it would tank. The reflection and build up of their relationship made me feel like I was listening to and reliving their story. There was some good dialog and it made me love reading the story. POV: Joss Overall Pace of Story: The back and forth between past and present helped the flow of the story stay consistent. It did give a good build up. Instalove: No H rating: 4, I gave him the 4th star for even thinking up sorbet…

Jake Undone – Penelope Ward
Book Reviews / February 9, 2018

Overall Rating: 2 stars Brief Summary of the Storyline: Nina is afraid of pretty much everything: trains, planes, heights, and even elevators. She moves to Brooklyn for Nursing school to stay with her brother’s friend. He has two other roommates that live there too, Tarah and Jake. It’s Jake that helps her get through all her fears. Jake is not what he is perceived to be. His exterior is filled with tattoos and piercings but he’s really a super smart engineer with a heart of gold. He is instantly sweet on Nina and wants to do everything to help her get over her issues. Yes super sweet….until the twist drops. Overall Opinion: I was actually liking this book. But then at the 60% mark, Part 2 started. I think they should have just finished up part 1 as the whole book. The whole pace and flow of the book changed with part 2. POV: Part 1 is Nina and Part 2 is Jake. Overall Pace of Story: Slow and even slower in part 2 H rating: Part 1 – 4 h rating: Part 1 – 3 Just because it bothered me: All of part 2 Sadness level: Just a bit….

Simply Crazy – Jenn Hype
Book Reviews / December 30, 2017

Overall Rating: 3.5 Stars Brief Summary of the Storyline: Blake moves in next door to CJ. He’s a bit too much business and she’s a bit too wild. Their first meeting doesn’t go over quite as one would expect. It continues when she shows up at his office the next day to apply to be his secretary. What happened next becomes Simply Crazy. Overall Opinion: I would have really loved this but it really was Simply Crazy. I get it Blake is a loose cannon but the way she took over CJ’s life would make anyone cringe. Not only did his friend but his mom and sisters helped join in on the crazy.  They took on one big conspiracy again CJ. Somewhere in the book, they decided to add a plot. Blake originally moved to be closer to her sister. Her reasoning was to help protect her from the abusive ex-boyfriend she had left. No one knew about the abuse but Blake figured she could help, even though she lived nowhere near her sister.  I did enjoy being able to ‘be’ inside both character’s head. You got a sense of who they were and I would have loved this book but the storyline was just…

Flat-Out Matt – Jessica Park
Book Reviews / December 17, 2017

Overall Rating: 4 Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is a companion novel to Flat-Out Love. If you have not read that first then you need to. After moving to Boston for college Julie finds out her roommate plans are a bust. Her Mom’s old college friend offers to put her up. The Watkin family takes her in but there are issues with the family that Julie uncovers during her stay. This is the POV from the middle son, Matt. Overall Opinion: While I did love this, it was not as good as the main novel. It goes give the readers some insight and some answers that Flat-Out Love missed. There are a few extra chapters in this that isn’t from the original so it’s not like reading the same book from another POV. But if you absolutely loved Flat-Out Love, this gives you that ‘MORE’ you NEED. POV: Matt Overall Pace of Story: Pretty solid Instalove: I think so H rating: 5 He get’s all 5 stars. Loved this character. h rating: 4 If you read my review of Flat-Out Love you will understand. Worthy to Remember: Matt and Finn together on the hike, Matt dealing with Celeste, Matt and Julie with the elevator….

Flat-Out Love – Jessica Park
Book Reviews / December 10, 2017

Overall Rating: 5 Stars, I’d give it 10 if I rated that high. Brief Summary of the Storyline: Julie arrives in Boston for college but when her housing falls through she ends up staying with the family of her mom’s old college roommate. Upon moving in she feels something is not so quite right about the family. The parents, Erin and Roger are nice but complete workaholics. The oldest brother, Finn is always traveling and never comes home. The middle brother, Matt, who is about the same age as Julie, is an MIT tech geek who seems to clash a bit with Julie. But then there’s the youngest child, Celeste. She is 13 and a bit odd. She carries a life-size cardboard of her brother Finn. Julie grows quite close to the family, even to Finn via Facebook chats and emails but something still doesn’t seem quite right. Overall Opinion: The short answer, I absolutely loved this book. Words can’t describe how much I enjoyed this. I was looking for something that would take me on an emotional roller coaster and this was it. I did catch the plot twist within the first few chapters but I just had to see where…

I Temporarily Do – Ellie Cahill
Book Reviews / November 23, 2017

Overall Rating: 5 Brief Summary of the Storyline: Emily was set to start a graduate program across the country and just before she was set to leave she found that the person she was set to room with had defrauded her, stole all her money, and left her with no place to live. Beckett was set to marry his college sweetheart and move to the same college. His finance, also named Emily canceled the wedding just days before they were set to leave for the grad school. He ironically had guaranteed housing but it was married housing. Luckily, Emily had the right name and Beckett had the right housing. What to do…oh what to do. Well, they marry on the way cross country and begin to live the charade as a happily married couple. Overall Opinion: I love love loved this book. I hate that I hadn’t had the time to sit and read it. I had to read it in spurts and I had to tear my eyes away when I needed sleep. This book was absolutely adorable and I’m glad I picked it up. I loved the pace, I love the dialogue, and I love the characters. The…
