You want to get in shape or lose those unwanted pounds. You start that first week in January and the gym even offers a sweet deal as incentive. But the first sign of winter sniffles and no more gym. Snow hits the ground and again the gym is the first to go. Start going to the gym when it's practical, in the spring, around March. That's when you want to be out the house. You are looking for places to go. The gym. You don't feel like such a failure for missing the last two months. If you have less than 20 lbs to lose there is still time to do so before bathing suit season. If you have more than 20 lbs to lose it wasn't healthy to begin with to try and lose more than 2 lbs a week but whatever you lose will still be noticeable and still worth it.

Start going to church. You may say to yourself, God has failed me. Could it be that you failed him. If you think about any given day of your week you will see more blessings than you realize. Visit a church they just might say some things you need to hear. Not sure where to go, look around, not only are they on most corners but you are guaranteed to know at least one person that goes to church. No one is saying join today but go. Its is never too late to reach out to God.

Maybe it's the type of person you're picking. Think outside the box. Try a different type of guy. Look for someone sharing your hobby, stop looking at his race or type of job. Maybe he's a bit overweight, well you wanted to join a gym for new year's maybe he could be your spring gym buddy. Nothing says sharing a hobby better than if you both workout together. While I have been absent for awhile now, I feel it's time to get back into the swing of things. My goal this year is to be consistant and try to write more often. I won't commit to everyday but maybe one day I can. Here's to the New Year.

I love to read. I do it all the time. I'll walk though Walmart and have the urge to pick up a book. I generally don't get books just because others are reading it I try to pick something that appeals to my taste and a good cover don't hurt either.

So I finished reading this one book about three weeks ago. Loved it, couldn't put it down, (Will talk about it in a later post) and immediately went to my bookshelf to pick a new one. I picked up "Marked" by P.C. and Kristin Cast. They are a mother/daughter writing team. I have picked up this book everyday for three weeks and I can't seem to get past page 11.

Marked is part of their House of Night Series. It's actually book one. I had figured that I liked the Twilight Saga, what's the harm in another vampire book. Much harm actually. I have no idea why I can't seem to get past it. It seems like a pretty decent book, great reviews and such. This is putting me way behind in my book reading process.

After she cried and whined a bit about being nominated the first thing she did was become catty and totally hate on Rachel.

DO NOT get me wrong I don't like Rachel either but if you go around talking about people and being snotty it will come back to bite you.

Once the main meal came I think we had already sent our drinks back twice. My flat Sprite and my husband flat Coke. Even after sending it back it still was flat. Now the food was great. Very delicious. However while the food was luke warm the plates were blazing hot. They were way too hot to touch and not just the adult plates but our kid's plates as well. That really pissed me off. I was ok with my hands burning but when my kids are crying cause they burned their fingers just trying to eat...not kosher.

There was even a part of the meal where we could hear the people at the next table talk to the manager. Apparently the two ladies got their meal but the gentleman at the table's meal was wrong. They took it back but he never got a new meal. The server offered to get a new one but he told them the ladies had long since finished their mail and he just wanted to leave. The manager ended up giving him a gift card for a free meal. At least I know I wasn't the only one with a bad experience.

Whoopee,it didn't feel so special to me. Not only didn't I get the pine for the boy that sat three rows ahead on the left but that place was an estrogen-fest of purses, shoes and hair.

I was an average student with average grades, so should I have higher aspirations for my son? Someone could yell at you and call you and your mother all sorts of things in spanish and you could sit there and say "that's the most beautiful thing I have ever heard." My main goal in life, besides raise my kids to eventually leave the nest, would be to be fluent in Spanish.

I have almost every book on tape, book on cd, book for dummies, I even own the Rosetta Stone computer-based learning system. I really want to be fluent. This semester, as well as a few before, I have taken online classes. One in particular this semester would be Intermediate Spanish. Our text is Sol y Viento (Sun and Wind). The video behind the text is about a Winery (Sol y Viento) in Chile that is being sought by an American company and they send their "representative" down to try to finalize the sale. I wanted to learn more about the story and came across at great website/blog. The Spanish Dilettante is written by a student studying Spanish and not only does he give great break downs of the Sol y Viento episodes but reviews of spanish books and other resources.

If you ever had a love of anything Spanish check out the site.

Well actually, I wanted to be an Air Force Wife, but a military uniform looks great no matter the division to me. Of course just a few months later September 11th happened and I was so glad that my husband hadn't enlisted like I was pushing because I'm sure he would have gone oversees and it would have killed me.

I don't see that as people doing stupid things. That show is about teamwork and being exposed to new cultures. I love that. To compare that to it's stupid counterpart. MTV's Road Rules or Real World/Road Rules Challenges. I don't like drama. Well, ones that aren't scripted.

Hell's Kitchen is my favorite. I hate when Gordon Ramsay yells but I love food so I watch. I know it's a huge contradiction from what I said above but at the end of the day I love it. Maybe I'm a sucker for a man with an accent. Plus the fact that he cooks, fine by me.

Hired, I think, is the most responsible show on MTV right now. I do watch Teen Mom and 16 an Pregnant but not to see the train wrecks that they try to portray. I do see that MTV is trying to bring in the viewers to let them see the hardships of being a teen age parent and I think they are trying to help but most of their shows are immature and I think they lost their way as a music channel. Hired is a great mature show. These kids coming up in the world today needs to know how to be adults and live in the adult world. After the Spring Break parties and and Real World Moments young adults need to know how to be responsible and get a job. The what to do's and what not to do's is great. MTV gives me hope with this show.

For a tv-a-holic like myself, I know what I'm watching and when. Well, I just found out 6 shows I watch have been canceled. I knew Dollhouse (Fox) and Miami Medical (CBS) was done but the Deep End, Flash Forward, the Forgotten (ABC) and Mercy (NBC) totally took me by surprise.

Whatever happened to the shows that made it, at least, past 6 eps. You get all set to watch a show and find it's been replaced by Got To Dance, Arranged Marriage and Dating in the Dark. Have we lost good quality shows with actual actors in favor to reality tv.The CW is even doing a show called Shedding for the Wedding. WTF.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I like watching tv, you know the shows, the ones with paid actors giving me entertainment. I'm over attention-seeking fame whores doing stupid stuff and embarrassing their family for money. If I wanted that I'd see a Jim Carrey Movie.
