Memorial Day

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

I love a man in uniform. I remember shortly after I got married I had recruiters come to our home to try and get my husband to enlist. My dream was to be an Army Wife. Well actually, I wanted to be an Air Force Wife, but a military uniform looks great no matter the division to me. Of course just a few months later September 11th happened and I was so glad that my husband hadn't enlisted like I was pushing because I'm sure he would have gone oversees and it would have killed me.

But there have been husbands and wives who have enlisted and have fought oversees. Some of them have not returned. My heart goes out to those who have lost family members that have chosen to serve our country. They were brave and should be remembered and thanked.  Today we honor them. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY.

More TV stuff

So I was reminded yesterday that I do, indeed, watch reality shows. I love the Amazing Race. I don't see that as people doing stupid things. That show is about teamwork and being exposed to new cultures. I love that. To compare that to it's stupid counterpart. MTV's Road Rules or Real World/Road Rules Challenges. I don't like drama. Well, ones that aren't scripted.

Hell's Kitchen is my favorite. I hate when Gordon Ramsay yells but I love food so I watch. I know it's a huge contradiction from what I said above but at the end of the day I love it. Maybe I'm a sucker for a man with an accent. Plus the fact that he cooks, fine by me.

Hired, I think, is the most responsible show on MTV right now. I do watch Teen Mom and 16 an Pregnant but not to see the train wrecks that they try to portray. I do see that MTV is trying to bring in the viewers to let them see the hardships of being a teen age parent and I think they are trying to help but most of their shows are immature and I think they lost their way as a music channel. Hired is a great mature show. These kids coming up in the world today needs to know how to be adults and live in the adult world. After the Spring Break parties and and Real World Moments young adults need to know how to be responsible and get a job. The what to do's and what not to do's is great. MTV gives me hope with this show.

I just checked out one of my favorite tv websites today: Futon Critic. They have all the info on what shows are canceled or being picked up. For a tv-a-holic like myself, I know what I'm watching and when. Well, I just found out 6 shows I watch have been canceled. I knew Dollhouse (Fox) and Miami Medical (CBS) was done but the Deep End, Flash Forward, the Forgotten (ABC) and Mercy (NBC) totally took me by surprise.

Whatever happened to the shows that made it, at least, past 6 eps. You get all set to watch a show and find it's been replaced by Got To Dance, Arranged Marriage and Dating in the Dark. Have we lost good quality shows with actual actors in favor to reality tv.The CW is even doing a show called Shedding for the Wedding. WTF.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I like watching tv, you know the shows, the ones with paid actors giving me entertainment. I'm over attention-seeking fame whores doing stupid stuff and embarrassing their family for money. If I wanted that I'd see a Jim Carrey Movie.
Today I had the great pleasure of having a 20 minute chat support with Sony. From the beginning I told them the model number that I found for the pc as well as the fact that the user of the machine had deleted the driver for the network card and was not able to access the internet. So below is the actual chat session.

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. Here's a poem I found on the internet that gives a good meaning of What is a Mother.

What Is a Mother?

A mother is someone to shelter and guide us,
To love us, whatever we do,
With a warm understanding and infinite patience,
    And wonderful gentleness, too.

How often a mother means swift reassurance
In soothing our small, childish fears,
How tenderly mothers watch over their children
And treasure them all through the years!

The heart of a mother is full of forgiveness
For any mistake, big or small,
And generous always in helping her family
Whose needs she has placed above all.

A mother can utter a word of compassion
And make all our cares fall away,
She can brighten a home with the sound of her laughter
And make life delightful and gay.

    A mother possesses incredible wisdom
And wonderful insight and skill -
In each human heart is that one special corner
Which only a mother can fill!

What Was That For

I had to go get an MRI on my knee today and I've been to this place before. Matter of the fact, I've had this knee MRI'd before. So the tech asks me what kind of music I wanted to listen to. I know the machine get's very loud and the music does help with the noise. SO I replied..."something soothing". Low and behold no music. I sat in that machine for 25 minuets with the loudest, most excruciating noise I have ever heard.

I asked about the music after I was done and some other tech said:

"oh, you barely hear that over the noise."

and I go

"ah, there was no music".

He goes

"oh it doesn't help anyway."

So tell me....why ask me for a preference if you weren't gonna play anything or it don't work.

Now......My head hurts and my knee hurts. That sucks!

Not On Paper

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
I realized that my posts are far and few in-between. I remember before the birth of my now seven year old that I had tons to say. I loved writing and I wrote often. Now, I can't seem to find a single topic to write about. I have lots of interesting things happen to me throughout the course of the day but someone I can't find the words to get it down on paper. Why is that? Am I the only one that find difficulty in expressing my thoughts to paper?

Singing Siblings

I posted this a while back but since I've seemed to have lost all my post with the new update I thought it would be nice to send it again. This is a clip of my girls singing a song we heard at church. I knew I had the song on my laptop and I thought it would be nice to record them singing. Apparently one of them didn't listen to the "Good Christen Word" of love thy sibling. it's kind of grainy as it was impromptu. I didn't have time to make it web appropriate.

Somehow the software used to post my messages didn't work. I have finally gotten this service to work so updates will be forth coming. :-)
